Explanation of fees

All fees are inclusive of GST and are Australia wide.

Consultation

The free initial consultation includes a half hour discussion with one of our experts, who will assess your requirements either in person, by phone or email.

Set up fee

This fee is payable on application for setting up a new DIY Superannuation Fund or Pension Fund. Please note your DIY Superannuation Fund automatically becomes your DIY Pension Fund. It is unlikely that there would be any special requirements that necessitate an additional fee, although services such as taxation advice for existing or future tax planning would be treated as a special requirement.

Your set up fee includes:

  • Free interview time (including a phone conversation) to explain when you receive your Trust Deed and Minute Book to know what you should sign and why certain papers are included and to go through the checklist with you.
  • Superannuation Fund Deed.
  • Minute Book.
  • Register.
  • Bank Kit.
  • Preparation of Fund Minutes.
  • Arranging a compliance letter for the Australian Taxation Office in accordance with the S.I.S. Act.
  • Australian Taxation Office approval including Australian Business Number and Tax File Number.
  • Member application forms and member advice notices.
  • Consents to set as trustee.
  • How to establish an investment strategy.
  • Assisting with roll over of any existing Superannuation Funds.
  • Searching for lost member money with ATO.
  • Result of lost member search to you.
  • Provision of a checklist once your new fund has been arranged, including bank kit to establish the Superannuation Fund bank account which you as trustees can operate.
  • When you transfer to Crea & Co we will attend to all documentation required including:

  • Advising the Australian Taxation Office on the change of address.
  • Letter to transfer to previous Administrator/Accountant.

Pensions

There is a charge for the taxation advice and initial administration requirements for commencement of pensions. This fee depends upon the complexity, the number, the type of pensions, and if actuarial certificates if relevant are required.

Annual fees

Your annual fees include:

  • Free initial half hour interview (including phone interview, if a face to face interview is not suitable). You discuss any questions you may have including how a transfer will be implemented and how our fees are determined. Written quotations are available.
  • Annual administration and recording of all transactions into our computerised records, lodgement of annual tax returns with the Australian Taxation Office and completion of an Annual Audit.
  • This presumes that there are only up to six investment decisions in a year, which are acted upon. If there are more investment decisions such as share trading, there would be a higher fee charged on a time basis.
  • This presumes an annual interview (by phone or email) where the information is handed to Crea & Co to complete the work. Phone calls during the year of 5 minutes or so are not normally charged unless there are many calls.
  • The fee is charged on the completion of a tax return at the end of each financial year.
  • Calculation of tax due or tax refund for Superannuation Funds. (No tax would be due for a Pension Fund, unless it is a Complying Asset Tests Example Pension Fund, but there may be a refund of imputation credits).
  • Maintenance of member account details.
  • Benefit payment documents.
  • Pension rebate and deduction calculation and annual audit statements.
  • Australian Taxation Office PAYG requirements.
  • Crea & Co offers a comprehensive service allowing the Trustees and Specialist advisor to concentrate on maximizing tax effective returns.
  • Any additional time during the year, on advice or special considerations, will incur additional fees. These fees will be charged on a time basis.

Costs not included

  • Annual Australian Taxation Office fee of $150
  • Annual Australian Securities and Investments Commission fee of $212 when there is a corporate (Pty Ltd) trustee or $40 if only acting for the Superannuation Fund.
  • Cost of an Actuarial Certificate. An annual Actuarial Certificate is required for complying pensions and when there is Superannuation and Pensions in the one Fund.
  • If a Corporate Trustee is required there would be an additional fee of $960.
